What are the responsibilities and job description for the Energy Auditor position at UL?
Candidate must be located in the Washington DC Metro, Philadelphia, New York, Boston or Eastern Searboard areas.
A Senior Energy Project Manager/Energy Auditor will perform existing building energy assessments and audits and new construction commissioning (Cx) within UL’s Asset and Sustainability Performance group.
- Complete existing building energy audits and assessments
- Provide technical consulting to building owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and project teams with respect to building MEP systems engineering and performance.
- Conduct comprehensive drawing and design reviews of MEP systems as related to Cx requirements.
- Lead and conduct field Cx activities on job sites when applicable.
- Maintain communication with internal and external project teams.
- Track project budgets and ensure scope of work is consistent with contracts.
- Train and mentor junior level team members.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improving project outcomes.
- Collaborate with Sales Team to assist in developing business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or other similar science degree
- At least (5) years of experience and the ability to simultaneously manage a diverse, complex set of projects.
- Thorough understanding of building MEP systems.
- Proven experience with the building assessments, commissioning process, documentation, and regulations for, but not limited to, LEED, Energy Code, United States Army Corps of Engineers Total Building Commissioning, etc.
- CxA, CCP, Cx BE, CBCP, QCxP, CxA, or similar certification preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- LEED Accredited Professional (AP) preferred
- Energy modeling experience preferred
