We have an exciting opportunity for a Knowledge Management & Learning Specialist at UL Standards & Engagement based in our Evanston, IL office. The Knowledge Management and Learning Specialist will support the collection, organization and dissemination of knowledge and expertise to achieve the mission of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) to make the world safer, more secure, and more sustainable. The Knowledge Management and Learning Specialist will help transform the collective knowledge and expertise of our subject matter experts into accessible resources, enhance training capabilities and facilitate knowledge sharing and learning within the organization. The Knowledge Management & Learning Specialist will develop training materials and promote knowledge sharing among internal stakeholders.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

As the Knowledge Management and Learning Specialist, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you: 

  • Create on-demand training modules to capture information efficiently from subject matter experts, making it readily available to the organization.
  • Support and maintain a repository of resources, ensuring that it is organized and easily accessible to support the organization's goals.
  • Implement strategies to provide real-time access to critical content for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the design and implementation of knowledge management programs to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Assist in implementation of the Standards new hire program to facilitate knowledge transfer and smooth onboarding of new employees.
  • Support and maintain a Standards Knowledge Management and Learning platform (SharePoint), to host resources and facilitate learning activities.
  • Develop a course to enhance the facilitation skills of internal stakeholders and ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Help develop and manage a podcast series intended to bring intrinsic knowledge to the entire organization.
  • Support a community of practice for Standards project managers, to enable knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and recommend technical training opportunities to fill knowledge gaps and ensure continuous improvement in safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management, organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in video editing and content creation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other office management software.

 

 Professional education and experience requirements for the role include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of equivalent experience implementing knowledge management and learning programs.
  • Experience in developing and managing a Knowledge Management and Learning platform, preferably SharePoint.
  • Experience in instructional design.
