THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: 

The Enterprise Data Steward is the lead data steward for one or more enterprise data domains, is a subject matter expert for data governance, and will manage complex stewardship efforts such as metadata management, data quality, and data lineage.  This senior individual contributor role is responsible for establishing, operating, and monitoring data management practices for assigned domains.  The Enterprise Data Steward will work closely with respective Business Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Ops and IT Data Custodians to execute on enterprise data governance objectives. 

The ideal candidate displays outstanding initiative and cultivates excellent relationships across business, IT, and control functions to achieve excellence in data governance outcomes.  This candidate will have demonstrated the ability to manage work efforts across multiple teams to deliver work products.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: 

• Central point of contact for data within their data domain across business functions
• Define and facilitate review and approval of business terms, data quality rules, and data quality scorecards for assigned data domains
• Monitor data quality metrics and scorecards for their assigned data domains and facilitate root cause analysis and data remediation
• Define and promote policies, processes, and governance best practices with domain data stewards
• Coordinate efforts to create and curate an enterprise data catalog
• Identify and facilitate resolution of critical data management related issues and risks e.g. Quality, Lineage, Security, Data Catalog etc.
• Implement continuous improvement opportunities around data quality, data utilization, data security etc.
• Look across the business to ensure appropriate representation & participation of business data stewardship
• Run data stewardship council / collaboration meetings and Data Governance working groups
• Ensure teamwork across Business Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Ops and IT Data Custodians for their data domains
• Participate in data strategy planning for their data domain

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: 

• 8 years’ experience in direct experience with complex data governance
• Expertise implementing data governance work efforts including metadata management, data quality, and data lineage
• Significant experience in matrix-managing complex work efforts, coordinating effort across different teams
• Significant experience working with master data such as Customer, Vendor, or Item/Product
• Experience working in retail or a consumer-facing industry
• Experience with metadata management systems such as Collibra or similar tools
• Experience with data quality measurement tools such as Informatica, Talend, Collibra DQ or similar tools
• Excellent knowledge of SQL
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience facilitating cross-functional meetings and ensuring all viewpoints, issues, and ideas are addressed
• Successful relationship building and influence through partnership across global teams
• Ability to drive business value from data governance best practices and deliver innovative solutions to meet enterprise data needs
• Demonstrated initiative and individual accountability
