Position: Cloud Administrator
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Job Description: The Cloud Administrator will provide resources, as well as the design, deployment, configuration, and support of applications at the resource level. This will include a mix of Azure IaaS solutions, as well as Microsoft SaaS solutions (Microsoft 365, other SaaS products) in accordance with the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and following NIST 2.0 Framework.
Responsibilities include:
- Support and be responsible for defined system administration activities.
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to work in stressful situations.
- Ensure that planned and unplanned events are being ticketed, tracked, assigned and resolved in accordance Infrastructure guidelines.
- Utilization of monitoring tools to provide both reactive and proactive support for the client’s network and systems infrastructure.
- Engagement and tracking of third-party resources that may be utilized to assist in the troubleshooting process.
- Assist in documentation of new processes and procedures to improve team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Project lead; drive projects and technology solutions to completion for both internal requirements and customer needs
- In-depth administration of Microsoft 365, to include Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Administration of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 servers. Includes managing and administrating Azure Storage (Azure Files and Azure File Sync with DFS Namespace), Terminal Servers, Active Directory (Domain Services, Certificate Services, Federated Services), Microsoft Entra, Group Policy/Conditional Access, Intune. Experience with Azure Dev Ops a plus.
- Performs software installations, updates, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage, and log monitoring following system procedures of all components of our data infrastructure.
- Prioritize and schedule multiple tasks. Resolve escalated Tier 3 Desktop Support problems.
- Assistance with administering Active Directory and have experience with server OS and security to include OS lockdown, NTFS permissions, and Group Policy.
- Managing Windows and Application patching, anti-virus, performance monitoring systems servers.
- Follow and adhere to IT Quality Standards policy and procedure (including change management, incident handling and inventory). Perform post-resolution follow-ups to outages\upgrade events.
- Create and update process and system documentation.
- Provide cross functional support, ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred. Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Admin.
- All candidates must have excellent diagnostic abilities and demonstrated multi-tasking and independent problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and principles.
- Microsoft Azure certification(s), such as Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in provisioning and managing Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, and Identity services using Azure Resource Management (ARM) with Bicep or JSON templates for deployment.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Monitoring and Automation tools for resource management and optimization.
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in Azure environments leveraging Azure Policy and Conditional Access. A thorough understanding of Azure RBAC is also required. We align with NIST 2.0 Framework
- The candidate should also have a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, and should have a complete understanding of common network service technologies such as AD (On-premise and Azure), DNS, DHCP, IIS, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, WMI, SCCM (now MECM)/Intune.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft 365 SaaS Applications
- Candidate will be expected to have deep understanding Microsoft Entra, Entra Connect and AD DS, AD FS, AD CS. B2C and C2C experience is a plus. This will include managing and implementing SAML solutions for SSO and additional IAM tasks.
- Must demonstrate strategic thinking skills and maturity in tackling complex problems, dealing with people, technology and processes. Out-of-the-box thinking is highly encouraged on our team.
- Demonstrates a high level of energy, results driven and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Strong follow-through and initiative to stay with issues until they are resolved.
- Minimum 5 years of IT experience; 3 years’ experience in server support operations, and minimum 1 year in backups and server architecture required.
- Candidates will be expected to provide work independently on larger projects as directed by the Information Technology Manager.
- Experience with Data Center and Network Infrastructure services monitoring and the ability to troubleshoot them effectively to resolution.
- Candidate must have knowledge of designing, implementing and configuring Disaster Recovery solutions (Azure Site Recovery, VM Availability Zones, etc).
- Candidate should have real-world experience in implementing and testing Backup and Restore technologies in a cloud platform. This will include testing of restores in isolated environment.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Administrator or similar role, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Must have ability to leverage internet, knowledge base and support resources, to proactively manage systems, ensure license compliance and maintain documentation. Assist Information Technology Manager with support\maintenance agreements for all server hardware and software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of training end-users in software applications and operating system fundamentals.
Additional Conditions of employment:
- Ability to work in West Fort Worth Office M-F (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Afterhours work will be determined by project need and will need to be approved ahead of time.
- Fill-in for team member shifts (24x7x365) that go on vacation or call in sick.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Candidate will be required to participate in recurring quarterly IT maintenance windows and out of cycle maintenance windows as defined and scheduled.
- Some travel (10-15%) will be required. Most travel is scheduled but occasionally (break/fix scenario) travel will be short notice.
- Candidate will be permitted to work remotely on Tuesdays/Thursdays, following successful onboarding and training.
