What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims & Appeals Specialist position at Ultimate Staffing?
Our client is a busy Medical office located in Tarpon Springs. They are seeking a temporary Claims & Appeals Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize tasks, multitask, and have high attention to detail.
Position Responsibilities:
- Follow up on claims from billing through final resolution
- Verify claims status with insurance
- Prepare and review claims for electronic and hard copy billing resubmission
- Denial and Appeal Management on all payers
- Correct any billing errors and resubmit claims to insurance carriers
- Reviewing and remittance advice for payment errors, denials, and under payments
- Be courteous and cooperate with patients, visitors, co-workers, and management
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail, multitask, and prioritize tasks
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in insurance collections, including submitting and following up on claims from commercial, government, or private insurances
- The ability to read and understand EOBs Claim Adjustment Reason Codes
- Knowledge of ICD- 10 and CPT codes and Payer medical policies
- Ability to identify, track, and report payer denial trends to management
- Accounts Receivables for commercial, government, and managed care accounts experience
- Outpatient and hospital billing and collections/ facility billing
- Must be proficient in MS Office with a focus in Excel
- The ability to work independently and part of a team
- NextGen experience is preferred but not required
Pay Rate: $20-$22/ Hour
Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday
