Job Description
Our Framingham client is seeking to add a construction estimator to their growing team! In this role, reporting to the chief estimator, you will have the opportunity to work on unique and exciting federal government construction projects.
Description:
- Review project solicitation documents and perform quantity take-off
- Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations and distribute solicitation documents
- Assist with and develop scope of work packages to define project work requirements
- Assist with and evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure accuracy in scope (Quantities, schedule, inclusions, exclusions, etc.)
- Assist with and prepare subcontractor/vendor price analysis sheets
Skills:
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to read and understand construction documents
- Good interpersonal skills including phone calls to subcontractors and vendors
- Ability to solicit and evaluate subcontractor and/or vendor proposals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel and Word)
- Working knowledge of take-off software a plus
- Good organizational and analytical skills a plus
Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of experience in the construction industry with estimating experience
- Experience with commercial or Government projects a plus
- Experience with a construction material supplier and quantity take-off a plus
