Overview

To help us continue expanding our offerings, we're in search of an experienced Product Manager with a proven ability to oversee the full lifecycle of our products and services from conception to release. This includes identifying what customers want, helping UltiSat to build the right products, and supporting the business to sell these products. The Product Manager will provide vision and leadership for the multidisciplinary teams involved in developing, marketing, selling, and supporting the product portfolio, ensuring the product supports the company's strategy and goals.

Responsibilities
    Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, innovation incubation, planning, positioning, requirements definition, roadmap development, go-to-market strategy development, pricing, product launch, in-life support, and product retirement.
  • Guide cross-functional teams in the creation of products that improve customer experience and grow market share.
  • Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build-vs.-buy perspective.
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams.
  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies and define product objectives for effective marketing communications.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments.
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans.
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates UltiSat across primary market segments compared to competitor offerings.
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data, production and sales costs, and anticipated sales volume.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing, Sales/BD, and Program Management teams to ensure product success and market growth.
  • Provide product training to Sales/BD, Program Management, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Complete operational requirements and meet product development deadlines by scheduling and assigning resources, and following up on work results, including quality control and testing.
  • Identify and manage new and existing product partnerships and reseller agreements.
  • Maintain a consolidated product catalog and ensure that pricing updates are clearly communicated to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team and other stakeholders to develop marketing collateral, presentations, and training material.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and content, and participating in professional societies.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Travel as needed.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the clearance level required for the position.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a hands-on product management role overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle for both hardware and service products.
  • Experience with product management in a technical services, SATCOM, or telecommunications market.
  • Experience drafting product and market requirements documents.
  • Experience with delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, along with effective presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage geographically dispersed cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex processes within and across teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.
  • Familiarity working within an Agile framework.
  • Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • MBA with a concentration in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience with Starlink, OneWeb, FlexMove, FlexAir, or similar managed SATCOM services.
  • Experience developing and managing LTE products and services.
  • Experience with routing, switching, and SD-WAN, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience with systems integration of complex communications and networking technologies.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams for video/voice conferencing.
  • Certified Product Manager (CPM).
  • New Product Development (NPD) Professional Certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience with Six Sigma process improvement methodologies and the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach.
