What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microscopic Assembly l position at Ultra Global Business Services?
Under direct supervision, this position will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled operations required to microscopically manufacture small, intricate, and very delicate components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various manual micro welding operations such as spot welding, fusing, and brazing on miniature components and subassemblies under microscopic conditions
- Work with small intricate hand and power tools to prepare components for assembly
- Measure, cut, and handle extremely small and expensive platinum wire ranging from .0005 mill to .016 mill in diameter
- Use various measurement instruments including scales, calipers, micrometers, and production related gauges
- Assemble and test components using electronic test instruments, such as digital multimeters
- Prepare ice baths and performs calibration of extremely small components
- Prepare and apply a variety of cement coatings, fluxes, and cleaning fluids, some of which require special handling
- Utilize semi-automated winding and dipping equipment
- Perform assembly and other process related functions on miniature components under a microscope
- Other duties as required
Desired Background and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to read and follow simple drawings, wiring diagrams, and written procedures, as well as some complex drawings
- 1 to 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent
- Able to make simple computations using basic math skills and must be able to keep simple records.
- Able to sit or bend for extended periods up to 2 hours.
- Able and willing to do repetitive work.
- Physical requirements may include lifting up to 50 pounds, tactile dexterity in hands and fingers.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Lives the "continuous improvement" philosophy; develops and adopts new ideas and concepts.
