Job Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the department supervisor in coordinating and assigning tasks to team members to accomplish departmental goals. The Kitting Operator will assemble small parts and package them in an assembly line. Under the direction of the Manager and/or Supervisor of Manufacturing Operations.
A variety of these traits will help land you this job, if you have:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous work experience in a Kitting manufacturing environment
- Worked in a manufacturing environment
- A “builder” mindset who is comfortable in a continuous improvement culture.
On top of that you must:
- Possess a thorough and organized approach to your work
- Pay close attention to details on every project
- Be able to read, write and understand English (preferred, not required)
- Have basic computer skills
- Be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
- Complete projects accurately within deadlines, while meeting Company and Customer quality standards
- Apply effective time management and self-management skills
- Understand and maintain the confidential nature of company, employee and customer information
- Be able to quickly move from one project to other while dealing with a deadline
- Be flexible to change
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including: Push / Pull / Lift / Manipulate 10lbs – 100lbs.
- Ability to stand for complete shift; lifting overhead, bending, and have great hand dexterity
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures that can become very hot depending on the weather.
Job responsibilities:
- Help train and work alongside temporary labor to complete kits
- Assist the kitting line and/or hand application areas
- Tag completed skids with applicable job information
- Wrap and package pallets of completed kits
- Keep accurate counts to ensure that all kits are completed
- Fill cartons with assigned materials and items
- Assist in all prep work prior to the kitting line
- Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures to meet Company standards
- Clean up the general Kitting area to ensure it is free of debris and safe
- Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
