Summary: Lead, mentor, and develop the Operational Supplies Specialists by supporting their efforts in building relationships with their customers, driving sales for their assigned territories, and expanding their knowledge bases and skillsets. Maintain the focus on improving the customer's experience, process optimization, and meeting corporate goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and support the results-driven sales team, which is responsible for developing and growing a $25M book of business through direct sales, dealers/distributors, and third-party commerce.
  • Develop and monitor the sales goals and metrics. Work closely with each team member to ensure they are equipped to meet their goals. Determine the need for training and talent development.
  • Ensure all customer issues are handled in a timely manner, and they are satisfied.
  • Remain connected to the customer's needs, challenges, and market conditions through continual conversations with the team, customer visits, and industry events.
  • Promote a highly communicative, collaboration-oriented, data-driven atmosphere that leverages the team's skills.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Marketing, Warehousing, and Logistics to share pertinent information such as quality issues, lead-time issues, product details, missed shipments, returns and credits.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operational Supplies to analyze data, identify trends, develop sales strategies and targets, implement workflows and improve processes.
  • Travel to customer sites, tradeshows, and training seminars (up to 10%).


Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of (3) years of experience leading, mentoring, and training sales or customer service groups, preferably in a technical setting.
  • High School/GED required, Associates or Bachelor's in Business or Marketing is preferred.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms. Microsoft Dynamics Sales and Microsoft Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Good understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations (F&O).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Analytical skills for evaluating sales, identifying trends, and developing sales strategies and targets.
  • Communication skills for overseeing staff and working managers and departments.
  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously.


Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position requires somewhat frequent exposure to hot and cool ambient temperatures, moving mechanical parts, heavy machinery, and possibly floating particles.
