What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Post Closer position at UMB Bank?
The Mortgage Post-Closer is responsible for reviewing all mortgage documents to assure quality in delivering the complete loan package to the aggregators/GSE.The incumbent will be responsible to meet delivery deadlines in addition to clearing any suspense items needed for the loan to be sold.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Monitor rate lock expiration dates to assure loans meet pricing delivery deadlines.
- Assemble, review and ship closed loan files to aggregators/GSE to meet all guidelines timely and accurately.
- Perform edits necessary to delivery files to the GSEs
- Work with closing agents, correspondents, custodians, and counties to obtain outstanding final docs and corrections as needed.
- Effectively communicate within the mortgage department of deadlines approaching, missing information and corrections that could affect the loan profitability and delivery of loan.
- Locate and deliver pertinent documents missing from original closing package and timely resolve any discrepancies to meet delivery requirements.
- Pay upfront premiums and prepare and send loan documents for government insuring.
- Monitor and gather aggregator/GSE suspense items for clear loan purchase.
- Reconcile purchase advice notices from the aggregators/GSE and update LOS.
- Follow up on trailing documents such as the final title policy and recorded security instrument to complete the loan file.
- Cross train to back-up other areas of the department.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned.

- Mortgage industry relevant experience
- Effective business communication skills
- (both oral and written).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of professionals including borrowers, attorneys, title companies, etc.
- Computer Literate; experience using all Microsoft Office Applications.
- Demonstrates understanding of the sense of urgency for delivery of files
Bonus points if you have
- Associate degree or equivalent college coursework
- 3 yrs. of recent mortgage
- Post-closing experience
- Experience with Encompass LOS.
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of investor requirements and automated delivery systems (FHA Connection, VA WebLGY, USDA Portal, MERS online)
- Demonstrates knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA guidelines and documentation
Compensation Range
Minimum $38,910.00 - Maximum $90,090.00
