Our internal Penetration Testing team serves as the hands and feet of UMB’s information security program. We take intelligence from the information security program and leverage this information to test the company’s environment in a controlled manner to strengthen our security posture. We interface frequently with business groups and technical teams to demonstrate and convey the risks associated with the vulnerabilities we are trying to protect against.

As a Penetration Testing Engineer, you will provide planning, design, implementation and usage of penetration testing tools to perform on-going vulnerability assessments of UMB’s internal and external environments. Your assessments will allow UMB to respond to any potential threats that would impact normal business activity.

The internal Penetration Testing team is a close-knit group of individuals that have a passion for digging deeper into technology to help ensure the security of UMB systems and applications. We share a strong commitment of proactively probing our technology for issues and working with teams to find secure solutions to help ensure our technology will not be compromised in the future.

How you’ll spend your time:

• Interact with business and technical teams to complete scoping documents and rules of engagements.

• Perform steps necessary to complete a high value penetration test.

• Document efforts taken during penetration testing exercises.

• Collaborate with technical teams to drive remediation activities.

• Re-test vulnerabilities found in previous scans.

We’re excited to talk with you if:

• You have at least 5 years of IT experience.

• You have at least 2 years of penetration testing experience including performing web application penetration testing.

• You have a certification related to penetration testing (i.e. eLearnSecurity, GIAC, Offensive Security, etc.). Although this is not a requirement, this is highly beneficial.

• You have scripting/coding experience.

• You have solid understandingof Security Fundamentals and Web Application Security.

• You have demonstrated knowledge some of the following tools/concepts:Penetration Testing (RED / PURPLE Team), application and vulnerability assessment, social engineering, web application exploitation, code inspection, incident response, risk assessment, data analysis.

Open to qualified remote candidates.

The pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is based in Colorado is typically $87,570 to $162,540 annually. The selected candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay for the selected candidate may be above or below this range. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in one or more incentive plans based on company and individual performance.
