We are looking for a talented, mission-driven professional to join the Umbra procurement team. The individual filling this position will collaborate across business departments to ensure the availability of necessary hardware, software, and commodities in support of Umbra’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the purchasing process for services, software, and commodities
- Support the spacecraft material purchasing process
- Implement each phase of the procure-to-pay process:
- Purchase request forecasting, identification, and processing
- Purchase authorization and approval
- Purchase order execution, order placement, and management
- Competitive bidding, negotiation of contract terms, risk management
- Invoice and Payment approval; facilitate three-way match for accounting purposes
- Record retention and management
- Ensure compliance and conformance to contractual requirements, government regulations, and company policies regarding confidentiality, trade secrets, intellectual property, and other sensitive or proprietary information and processes
- Engage stakeholders to ensure that procurement processes are successful, simple, understandable, efficient, and responsive to workflows and business requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or Associates degree plus equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or similar position
- Experience working in a customer- and/or vendor-facing position
- Experience placing Purchase Orders (POs) of low to medium complexity and processing high volume of POs across various business units
- Demonstrated strong industry-standard technical knowledge including understanding of sophisticated technical specifications, tolerances, designs, and language (Engineering, IT)
- Strong understanding of contract terms and risk management; effective at managing competitive bid procurements
- Technologically competent; knowledgeable and proficient in utilizing current technologies, software programs, and information systems to perform duties
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Capable of being effective, efficient, proactive, and professional across settings, modalities, and levels
- Display industriousness, conscientiousness, and dependability in performing tasks; consistent and accurate in carrying out responsibilities to successful conclusion
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced development environment
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need the ability to access US only data systems
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification (CPP, CPPM, CPPC) designation
- Familiarity with Materials Resource Planning (MRP) systems

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by skills, responsibilities and relevant work experience.
Salary : $62,000 - $128,000
