Job Summary
The Patient Scheduler is responsible for securing and communicating pertinent information needed for scheduling patients for surgery, out-patient procedures, and follow up appointments
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to :
UMC Cancer Center Patient Schedulers are required to work multiple clinics when needed.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Skills and Abilities
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Interactions with all departments and employees within UMC. Close interactions with physicians and clinic staff dealing with scheduling and certification of patients’ procedures
Physical Capabilities
Work can be sedentary, but may frequently require standing, walking, stooping, pulling, and pushing. Near visual acuity, ability to hear and to speak is required.
Should be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Environmental / Working Conditions
Work area is well lighted, and subject to varying indoor temperature changes. The work is performed in a high-risk area for blood borne pathogens.
