Job Summary
The OR Supply Technician orders, receives, inspects, stores, transports, delivers, issues, safeguards, accounts for, and replenishes medical material supplies at required locations in a timely manner
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to :
- Process receipts for incoming supplies; Ensures quality and quantity of materials match supporting documentation and discrepancies
- Assist in OR inventory count
- Assists Materials Management to establish and adjust par levels as necessary.
- Ordering supplies and implants from assigned areas
- Stock incoming materials / supplies in assigned areas
- Works in conjunction with OR Service Coordinators to ensure relevant items are available for surgical cases.
- All other assigned duties related to implants, supplies, stocking, receiving, or Materials Management
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of materials management related to inventory control, counts, purchasing, and delivery helpful
- Problem solving skills
- Computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
This position requires close interaction with OR Materials Management, OR staff and physicians
Physical Capabilities
Physical demands of the position are moderate. The technician will be required to lift items up to 50 lbs., reach overhead, as well as bend to the floor.
The technician should be in reasonably good physical condition and available to spend long periods of time standing on a solid surface.
The technician must be able to endure 6 hours of mobility, with rapid response.
Environmental / Working Conditions
This position is subject to indoor temperature changes. Work done intraoperative is performed in a high- risk area for exposure to blood borne pathogens.
