Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The CAD Technician produces Solidworks models, drawings and material lists that support the production, product, and application teams. He/she provides technical assistance from the preliminary stage of a project to its completion.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Product, R&D, and Engineering team to produce models and shop drawings to be used in the development and manufacture of scaffolding.
- Executes Engineering Change orders to existing parts to support Engineering and production with optimization and improvements to existing products.
- Supports the Product team by producing renders, vector files and other collateral to be used in catalogs, flyers, manuals, and various technical support materials.
- Produces models to confirm the fit and function of new and existing parts.
- Supports Engineering by providing models and various assemblies for FEA review.
- Other duties/projects as assigned, such as participating in company committees/teams.
Qualifications
- HS Graduate or equivalent technical school education.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (civil, structural or construction) a plus.
- Experience in scaffolding and shoring applications and design a plus.
- Experienced in AutoCAD, project management software and computer applications.
- Excellent communication skills including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Extensive daily interaction with internal colleagues, management and customers.
- Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem solving skills.
- Willing and able to learn new products, concepts and techniques.
- Organized team player able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
