Engineering Project Manager

UMH Properties, Inc. is a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) that has tripled in size over the past 10 years, with no signs of slowing down. Our small Engineering Department is involved in every aspect of Community Development and Capital Improvement Projects for 140 Communities in 12 states (and counting).

We are currently seeking an Engineering Project Manager who can assist us with:

• Collaborating with Engineering staff and key stakeholders to manage land development and capital improvements projects, from zoning/permitting to bid preparation/evaluation, contract negotiation, project oversight, and construction completion• Collaborating with Engineering staff and key stakeholders to manage water and sewer line and treatment plant upgrade projects for our 69 privately owned water and wastewater treatment facilities and 70 lift stations, from concept to construction completion• Collaborating with Engineering staff and key stakeholders to prepare and/or review project scopes of work, project manuals, bid documents, contractor quotations, contract award documents, and invoices related to land development and/or capital improvement projects• Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities• Assisting with due diligence for commercial property acquisition

The preferred candidate is a self-starter with the ability to complete team-based and independent projects with minimal supervision and the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years’ Construction/Project Management experience is required – experience as a site superintendent or construction foreman is a plus• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles is preferred• Experience with water and sewage systems is preferred• Experience in operations or design of wastewater package plants and private well systems preferred• Experience with roadway design, survey, and environmental permitting is preferred• BSc/BA in Engineering, Project Management, Building Science, or relevant field preferred; PMP Certificationis a plus• A team player with leadership abilities is preferred• Ability to travel to project sites is required - approximately 25% with some overnight travel
