About Jewelry & Industrial Metals (JIM)
A wealth of applications. Umicore is an expert in developing products and processes based on precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum. These materials enable our customers to make fine jewelry, coins, high purity glass and industrial catalysts. Umicore also enables the sustainable and responsible sourcing of these metals and provides closed-loop recycling for our customers. To make the most of these materials we cannot stand still. What you will be doing
As a Production Supervisor you'll be responsible to organize, motivate, train and manage people, operations, shifts, and other resources to safely and efficiently transform materials and execute products at maximum throughput with minimum operation expenses and inventory. Specifically, this will include:
- Operating production equipment as qualified to contribute to daily manufacturing needs
- Develop and run operational routines within the area of responsibility
- Organize and control production systems and operations
- Order and maintain department supplies necessary for production
- Continually improve production performance
- Improve culture; develop human resources to have the jobs done
- Motivate and train people for production systems and operations
- Feedback, coaching, objectives and assignment and evaluation
- Create and innovate, bringing extraordinary contributions
- Imagine and implement new ideas and projects to help UEM in achieving sustainable objectives, innovate and create solutions, contribute to UEM to improve the business
Who we are looking for
Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenges they face. As well as your High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience, you should have 2 Years' leadership experience and preferably 5 Years' experience in a metals manufacturing environment. We'll also be looking for:
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- ERP Systems User, Preferably SAP
- Experience with quality systems and procedures, able to follow written work instructions
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization with a measured sense of understanding for sensitive and confidential issues
- Ability to anticipate, recognize and analyze potential workplace risks and effectively create resolutions
- Highly organized, self-structured and accurate
- Pro-active, self-driven. Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
- Practical approach, straight-forward and communicative
- Emotionally balanced, able to bear stress and multiple demands
- Safety and Quality mind-set to achieve results

This position offers competitive hourly rate and bonus potential.
