What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Faculty/DISC Program Director position at UNC-Chapel Hill?
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry invites applications for a faculty member in the Division of Comprehensive Oral Health that will lead the Dentistry in Service to Communities (DISC) program, serve as the school's liaison with the Rural Oral Health Scholars program, and serve as a mentor for other community engagement activities. The selected individual will also provide teaching and/or clinical practice for our predoctoral students. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assuring the safe and effective delivery of patient care, providing didactic and clinical education, summative and formative student assessment, and leading small group seminars.
This position offers outstanding opportunities for intramural practice, scholarly activities, continuing education, professional service and research. Successful applicants should have the ability to establish a robust intramural practice with the UNC Adams School of Dentistry's Dental Faculty Practice. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in public health/community settings or an advanced degree in public health, health services research or health management. The ideal candidate will have the required education and experience teaching public health concepts and mentoring students; be familiar with community rotation programs and a variety of healthcare settings where dentistry is practiced; and familiarity with affiliation agreements with other healthcare organization.
Applicants must have a DDS/DMD or equivalent degree, excellent clinical credentials, teaching, and scholarly activity. This person must have experience in organizational and interpersonal skills, leadership, and a commitment to diversity, inclusivity and collegiality.
