As an Admissions Representative at Watauga Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admission process for patients. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the admission process by gathering patient information, verifying insurance coverage, and coordinating with various departments to ensure a seamless transition into the hospital system. You will serve as a liaison between patients, their families, and hospital staff, providing support and assistance throughout the admission process. Key responsibilities include:
- Greet and welcome patients and their families upon arrival at the hospital.
- Collect and accurately record patient information, including personal details, medical history, and insurance information.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorization or pre-certification as necessary for admissions and procedures.
- Explain admission procedures, hospital policies, and financial obligations to patients and their families.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork, ensuring all required documentation is obtained.
- Coordinate patient transfers from other healthcare facilities, working closely with transportation services and medical staff to ensure a smooth transition.
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff, physicians, and other departments to coordinate patient admissions and ensure all necessary preparations are made.
- Provide assistance and support to patients and families throughout the admission process, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all admissions-related activities in the hospital's electronic medical records system.
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. Hiring compensation ranges from $15.50-$22.48 per hour. This position is PRN with varying hours. Eligible for PRN differential on top of base rate of pay.
