Summary:
The Buyer performs a variety of duties to purchase materials, equipment, merchandise, and supplies according to hospital guidelines for cost, quality and delivery. Participates in procurement sourcing teams for research, bid and contract management of supplies and services.

Responsibilities:
• Facilitates and implements electronic commerce procurement practices in line with improved strategic supply relationships. Serves as the primary liaison between Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital and contractors/suppliers to fulfill contracts.
• Develops strategic supplier relationships to facilitate supplier input to enhancing cost reduction initiatives. Manages supplier performance associated with service delivery to departments and resolves issues related to supplier performance.
• Participates in procurement sourcing teams for research, bid and contract management of supplies and services, Serves as lead and operational resource for procurement matters for assigned departments. Educates and advises departmental customers on the use of the Lawson electronic purchasing process.
• Maintains files and records of current and potential supplies, materials, prices, delivery dates and inventories Maintains files and records of current and potential supplies, materials, prices, delivery dates and inventories. Purchases all official storeroom inventories, non-inventory items and supplies following standard procedure
• Updates current files of open and closed purchase orders, packing slips and other working files for reference and inquiry in a timely manner and assist AP to match invoices to purchase orders accurately

Qualifications

Required
• Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two (2) years of purchasing experience.
Preferred
• Experience purchasing for a hospital or similar healthcare institution.
