Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician coordinates and performs the daily cleaning and stocking of all anesthesia equipment in all operating and delivery rooms and the Anesthesia work room. Is responsible for room turnover after each case, providing supplies as needed; replacing, cleaning and disinfecting anesthesia equipment; disposing of bio-hazardous trash and changing suction equipment as needed.
Schedule: Shift is 1030am - 7:00pm Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
1. Orders pharmaceutical supplies daily and maintains adequate par levels to meet department needs.
2. Orders unit medical supplies and maintains adequate par levels to meet department needs.
3. Maintains Anesthesia workroom in a clean and orderly manner.
4. Maintains the Anesthesia machine and supply cards in reach OR.
5. Demonstrates flexibility by productive responses to scheduling changes or emergencies. Ensures organization and completion of work within allotted time and ready to assume duties at scheduled time.
6. Identifies learning needs through self-assessment which demonstrates growth and development. Attends 3-5 hours of continuing education related to scope of care on the unit.

Education
High School Education or Equivalent Licensure/Certification
Basic CPR Certification Experience One year of relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
Valid NC Driver's License: NO
(If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.)
