What are the responsibilities and job description for the Capstone Teaching Fellow position at unc?
This position encompasses several responsibilities throughout the academic year. As Course/Program Support from July to May, the individual collaborates with the course instructor to create course materials, facilitates reflection sessions, administers and reports 360 feedback, assists with grading course assignments, manages the course's Canvas site, and coordinates logistics for Capstone events. From August to May, as Team Support, the role involves reading and responding to weekly updates from Capstone teams, monitoring their work plans, providing technical support and feedback on draft deliverables, and assisting with conflict management and professional relationships. In the period from December to April, the role includes assisting in identifying community partners, developing recruitment materials and project proposals, coordinating proposal sharing, and helping match students and faculty to projects for the following year's Capstone Projects. Finally, as Manuscript Support from July to May, the individual assists in literature review, survey development, data collection and analysis, and manuscript preparation, with the possibility of coauthorship. Attendance at Capstone classes (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health) and participation in team meetings are required, with additional hours varying.
