What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gynecologist Physician position at unc?

The Gynecology Physician is administratively responsible to the Director of Clinical Services and to the Executive Director, Campus Health (CH). This position is professional licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina and expected to carry out this practice in an ethical and informed manner within the administrative framework of Campus Health. This position is responsible for the direct care of eligible persons coming to Campus Health for gynecological care, including long-acting contraception procedures and counseling, colposcopies, pre-conception counseling, sexual health, disease prevention care, including STI testing, pap smears, gender affirming care and general preventive gynecological services. The physician will help act as the clinical supervisor for the Gynecology Advanced Practice Providers, helping to train and educated colleagues in order to advance their skills in gynecological best practices. The person in this position is expected to participate in the organizational performance improvement program and to bring to administrative attention any areas which in their judgment requires attention for improvement reasons. This position is expected to participate in the administrative governance of Campus Health as indicated. Teaching activity both with staff and health care professionals-in-training is expected. The physician will attend meetings with gynecological and administrative staff to facilitate communication and resolve issues involving personnel and patient care. Consultation, interaction and outreach with members of the University community and media, and participation on health-related campus committees regarding gynecology specific issues is also expected as required. The physician will serve as an advocate and expert on gynecological health at Campus Health and across campus and plays an important role in health education especially through individual contacts with student clientele.
