The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Children's Hospital is seeking a physician-scientist to join a busy and productive academic practice. This is a full-time, open rank, fixed term, variable or tenure track faculty position. Rank will be determined at a level commensurate with the applicant's experience and accomplishments. The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine offers an exceptionally collaborative environment for the care of children with the full spectrum of pulmonary diseases including cystic fibrosis, asthma, primary ciliary dyskinesia, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, complex airway disease, and other types of chronic lung disease. The program has outstanding expertise in flexible bronchoscopy and facilities for other diagnostic testing. The clinical programs provide a multidisciplinary care approach and stress continuity of care through partnership with primary care providers. Clinical care is provided at the North Carolina Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina Children's Specialty Clinic (Raleigh), Novant Health-University of North Carolina Children's Hospital (Wilmington), as well as other sites in the state. The Division has strong basic and translational research programs that provide opportunities to participate and lead clinical trials for innovative therapies through collaborative work within the institution, including the Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma, and Lung Biology and Marsico Lung Institute, and as part of national research networks. The chosen applicant will also be involved in the educational mission, teaching trainees, including pediatric pulmonology fellows, residents, medical students, other graduate students, and participate in other scholarly activities.
