Summary
The Director of Procurement is responsible for developing strategic approach to procurement and material management process of direct and indirect goods and services. In this leadership role, the successful candidate will direct the procurement of goods and services for the company; assist Procurement team members and colleagues with procurement related activities; develop and/or update procurement policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
· Maintaining knowledge of the market, in addition to current prices and fair rates for goods
· Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers
· Building and maintaining long term relationships with vendors and suppliers
· Oversee contract development by negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
· Collaborate with Director of Operations and Planning team to ensure all Raw Materials needed for production are on hand
· Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
· Develop and deploy integrated visual MRP tools to forecast and manage a constrained and varied purchase model
· Develop and deploy policy and procedures for Blanket Ordering processes for high volume raw materials needed for manufacturing
· Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organization value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement
· Managing skills and competency development of procurement staff, including training development and knowledge management capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related, business or logistics field, or equivalent in experience
- 5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement management in manufacturing environment
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Solid analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Outstanding team building and leadership skills
Travel Requirements
· Travel between Detroit and Montgomery City facility required to work with Procurement team members and Uncle Ray’s team members
Organizational Relationships
· Reports directly to Uncle Ray’s General Manger
· Manages Procurement Specialist and Procurement & Planning Manager

· May be required to lift up to 30 pounds on occasion
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
