Purpose of Position
The INMED Summer Institute Program Assistant will support the program’s Summer Institute Program Coordinator, Instructional Staff, and Counseling Staff to ensure the organization fulfills its mission to improve and enrich the educational opportunities for our students.
Duties & Responsibilities
The INMED Summer Institute Program Assistant will support the program’s Coordinator, Instructional Staff, and Counseling Staff to ensure the organization fulfills its mission to improve and enrich the educational opportunities for our students.
Serve as the strategic support system directly under the SI Program Coordinator
Organize and coordinate events, projects and travel for up to 60 summer program participants.
Logistical support and facilitation for education and research activities for students grades 7-12.
Assessment of program outcomes using pre- and post- activity analysis tools.
Administrative support including office functions, sorting and distributing student mail, responding to family, parent, and tribal leadership inquiries.
Capturing photos/videos, producing social media content for INMED Program Manager.
Monitor activities in classrooms, labs, residence halls, and field trips to ensure student safety and enforce behavioral standards.
Oversee residence halls and cover occasional overnight on-call shifts to ensure student safety.
Provide coverage for other SI staff, specifically on rotating duty days or for planned days off.
Meet daily with INMED SI dorm staff and report back to INMED Program Coordinator.
Complete a video showcasing the activities that took place during SI to be shown during the INMED Summer Institute Banquet.
Dates of employment will be June 3rd – July 12th, 2024.
Required Competencies
Organized, self-starting, can manage multiple and changing priorities.
Able to provide responsible, appropriate, and safe leadership and decision making.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Minimum Requirements
At least 18 years of age
Experience in secondary or higher education either as a student or as a professional
Familiarity with Native American Culture
Proficient with MS Office suite
Valid Driver's License
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
Previous professional experience with Native American Youth
Proficient in research and assessment practice and procedure
