The Senior UX Designer is responsible for designing and developing customer-facing applications and software platforms as well as ensuring all elements of the software development are tested to markets satisfactory levels, documented and maintained. You will, in collaboration with the R&D and Marketing team, create and lead the design strategy and user interfaces that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design Strategy: Define and communicate the overall UI/UX design strategy for our product platforms, aligning it with business goals, user needs, and industry best practices. Stay updated on emerging design trends and technologies relevant to the sporting goods and golf simulator industry.
- User Research: Conduct user research activities, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user behaviors, pain points, and preferences. Utilize data-driven insights to inform design decisions and continuously improve the user experience.
- Information Architecture: Create effective information architecture, user flows, and navigation structures that optimize the usability and efficiency of our logistics platform. Simplify complex processes and data to ensure a user-friendly experience.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user journey maps to visually communicate design concepts and interactions. Iterate on designs based on feedback from users, stakeholders, and technical considerations.
- Visual Design: Create visually appealing and consistent user interfaces that align with our brand identity while enhancing usability. Design high-fidelity mockups, icons, and other graphical elements using industry-standard design tools.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and operations personnel, to gather requirements, define user stories, and ensure design feasibility and implementation.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of design solutions, identify pain points, and gather user feedback. Incorporate user insights into design iterations to optimize the user experience.
- Design System Development: Contribute to developing and maintaining a design system that promotes consistency and scalability across our Golf product platform. Ensure adherence to design guidelines and best practices.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Share your expertise in UI/UX design and contribute to the overall design culture within the company.
- Perform other duties to achieve web development/platform goals as assigned by the CTO.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, focusing on web and mobile applications. Previous experience in the Golf or sporting goods industry is highly desirable.
- Some Front-End development skills required, i.e., HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, etc.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio that showcases your expertise in UI/UX design principles, user-centered design process, and visual design skills. The portfolio should demonstrate your ability to solve complex problems and deliver successful outcomes.
- Expertise: Proficiency in user-centered design methodologies, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design tools (e.g., Zeplin, Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Invision, or similar). Experience with data visualization and dashboard design is a plus.
- Golf and golf industry understanding: Familiarity with golf industry, terminologies, and challenges within the golf simulator industry.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional.
