Job Overview:
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Works in conjunction with in house employees and vendors daily on processes, projects, support and maintenance.
- Assists Lower-level maintenance technicians in diagnosing equipment issues or in complex and difficult repairs, adjustments and part replacements.
- Assists Lower level technicians in maintaining decorating, capping, welding, and conveyor equipment.
- Supports third party vendors when required during equipment installations.
- Supports work orders and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Follows prescribed procedures for safety, quality and process documentation.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities.
- Successfully complete projects and other tasks as assigned by the manager and/or the team.
- Complies with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Maintains technical documentation of networks, systems and associated architecture.
- Evaluates current equipment, new equipment, processes and assist in the development and documentation of technical standards.
- Documents issues, resolutions and tracks calls using Remedy System and follows up with users on Open Tickets.
- Adheres to change management standards and processes.
- Participates in on-call rotation schedule.
- Available to work nights and weekends as needed
- This position requires up to 50 % travel but can vary to 25 % depending on business conditions. Most travel will be scheduled but some travel will be late notice as part of the nature of this position.
Education:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus
Experience:
- 2 to 5 years Materials Handling experience preferably in warehousing, distribution environments
- 5 years of manufacturing experience; pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills
- Hands-on experience working with PLC’s, photo eyes, diffusers, Barcode scanners, diverters, label printers, access points
- Previous experience using company supplied tools to perform basic maintenance tasks, as required
- Experience with Warehouse technologies, such as Pick to Light and Pick to Voice
- Previous Experience in Allen Bradley RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000 PLC software
- PLC experience required
Knowledge:
- Minimum five years of manufacturing material handling experience required
- Knowledge of safety rules and procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical, pneumatic systems, conveyors, motors and packaging equipment
- Demonstrated knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems and circuits.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the following software programs; MS office suite, Adobe Professional, Autocad, MS Visio
- Working knowledge of Psion, Symbol and Motorola Access Points and RF Devices
- Moderate computer skills
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to comprehend electrical schematics.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly to solve technical problems
- Ability to document procedures and have good organizational skills for asset management
- Must be motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to organize materials, tools and equipment
- Able to prepare documentation for equipment ordering
- Works well in a team-based environment with limited supervision
- Basic understanding of PC networks
- Strong mechanical aptitude
