What are the responsibilities and job description for the GENERAL MAINTENANCE position at UNFI?
PURPOSE
Under the general direction of the Supervisor or Lead, is responsible for the technical support, tracking, monitoring, ordering and servicing of installation related activities enterprise-wide. Provides support in actively maintaining an effective, reliable production environment through an understanding of store equipment and refrigeration needs. Provides skilled maintenance, installation, repair and inspection work on complex equipment and machinery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installs, inspects, maintains and repairs equipment and machinery.
Troubleshoots specialized equipment and machinery.
Tests lines, components and connections using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic test equipment.
Does soldering and brazing.
Performs pre-start up checks on equipment and adjusts as necessary.
Lays out and installs reference points for determining equipment location.
Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom; and orders from vendors.
Reads complex sketches and schematics.
Supervises other regular employees during a minor portion of the employee’s work time; duties include assigning and reviewing work.
Performs basic electrical repair.
Maintains basic structures through carpentry repair.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Education, Certification, and/or Relevant Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Thorough working knowledge of complex equipment and machinery.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a variety of temperatures and locations.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50# maximum load may be required in completion of job duties.
Incumbent may be required to work off hours, weekends and holidays as required by schedule. •Travel may be required.
