Ungerboeck Software is looking to hire the best Visual Designer for our St. Louis team!
Responsibilities
Solve complex visual problems that adhere to limitations set by the web and know when to push for a better user experience
Apply existing UI library, templates, patterns, and guidelines while still producing creative and beautiful user interfaces
Craft UI elements that reflect branding, best UX practices, and accessibility standards
Create iconography and illustrations to amplify designs
Translate UX wireframes into beautiful visual experiences for end users
Ability to work in agile, fast-paced environments and juggle multiple projects at once
Experience designing user interfaces for Enterprise software and other web applications
Ego-free and eager to give and receive candid and constructive feedback
Collaborate with UX Designers, Front End Developers, Software Engineers, Consultants and Product Managers
Enthusiasm for staying up to date on current UI design trends
Strong belief for the user-centric design process and advocate for users (Tron-style!)
Comfortability with presenting and explaining ideas to internal teams
Participate in team brainstorming sessions and communicate complex design concepts
Provide polished design deliverables and hand-off to developers, product managers and clients
3 years professional experience designing experiences and user interfaces for web-based desktop, tablet, and mobile productsBachelor’s Degree preferably in one of: Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Web and Interactive Design, Industrial Design, Psychology (User Research), Computer Science or Engineering
Strong portfolio showing stunning visual designs for a range of devices and platforms with user experiences in mind
Expert in Adobe Creative Suite specifically XD, Photoshop, Illustrator
Working experience using HTML/CSS, SASS, JavaScript and modern frameworks like Bootstrap, Durandal, Aurelia, Angular

- Ego-free and is eager to give and receive candid and constructive feedback.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present ideas and concepts to individuals and large groups.
- Constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback through hands-on usability testing.
- Ability to interact with cross-functional teams such as development and product management.
- Comfortability with presenting and explaining ideas to internal teams
- Ask questions – even stupid ones
- Ability to go with the flow – because sometimes things don’t go as planned.
- Awareness of capabilities and limitations of the web – and when to push them.
- Experience with responsive web design.
- Adobe Creative Suite, XD.
- Bonus: Has worked on Design systems.
