Loan Documentation Specialist - Sterling Associates

Position Overview:

In this position you will be tasked with support the team to ensure timely, accurate loan closing packages.

Primary Accountabilities:

• Coordinate timing of loan documents with salespersons and confirm funding by ensuring loan packages are completed in accordance with lender bank's requirements
• Incorporate any changes initiated by lender banks (form and fees) to ensure accurate documentation.
• Contact lender(s) to obtain payoff information for trade-ins and seller's loan and prepare payoff letters and release of mortgage to former lienholders. Re-calculate payoff figures as needed and disburse appropriate funds.
• Determine if UCC filing is necessary based on lender bank's guidelines and prepare the form to secure chattle mortgage.
• Respond to customer inquiries relative to the lending process (for example - funds disbursement, recordings, etc.).
• Assist in preparing final settlements and coordinate information to ensure loan closings are handled in a timely manner.
• Interact frequently with customers and sales staff to relay detailed information pertaining to loan transactions. Communicate to customers when funds will be disbursed on loans and when possession of collateral may occur.
• Obtain loan payoffs, seller information, closing time schedules with sales staff to maximize customer service.
• Answer in-coming phone calls and respond to inquiries, transfers calls and take messages as appropriate
• Prepare office correspondence as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Education and Work Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent required
• 2 years business experience required
• Must have excellent verbal, math and customer service skills, possess clerical accuracy and be detail oriented
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are needed.
• Must be organized and able to multi-task while managing several items simultaneously.
• Able to clearly articulate ideas and information consistently, effectively in both written and verbal communications.
