Job Title: AWS/Cloud/Solutions Architect

Location: Durham, NC - 27709 - Hybrid Role

Duration: 12 Months with long term extension

Need 10 Years plus profiles with 5 years of Architect experience



Seeking an experienced Solution Architect OR Cloud/AWS Architect. This resource is responsible to work across the entire Cloud Services organization and ensure cloud solution are implemented as specified



The position responsible for:

1. Provide technical leadership for one or more of the following domains: Business Architecture, Application/Software Architecture, Database Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture and Security Architecture.

2. Responsible for finding opportunities to improve architecture using cloud and cloud-native technologies.

3. Hands-on abilities to build MVP (Minimal Viable Product) technology solutions in the cloud.

4. Prior experience in digital transformation for large complex applications.

5. Provides assessment of current state technology architecture and recommendation of future state technology architecture

6. Identifies architectural risks and plans to mitigate risks, ensures adherence to standards and best practices, and influences and communicates effectively with non-technical audiences including senior ITD and business stakeholders.

7. Collaborate with Software Development teams, Product Managers, and Business Owners to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems.

8. Guide/Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large and small-scale systems.

9. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.

10. Develop Cloud Operation Framework, and roles and responsibilities for each category in the framework.

11. Automate tools to monitor system health and reliability to support business process requirements, Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.

12. Communicate status and risks to the product teams, Help automate and streamline operations and processes.

13. Ensure solution designs and implementation meet architecture quality standards.

14. Guide Solution Architects / Tech Leads to ensure that application and integration architecture aligns with system design guidelines and enterprise architecture standards.

15. Mindful of the Healthcare Industry and Digital Health trends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies:

1. Active status as an AWS Certified Architect (DevOps or Architect preferred)

2. Implements technical processes to roll out solutions.

3. Works with the project team to deliver fully functional products in a timely manner

4. Knowledge of CI/CD (Jenkins, TravisCI, CircleCI, AppVeyor, etc) is required.

5. Working experience with one of more automation tools and repository such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CHEF, TeamCity, Artifactory, SVN, Bitbucket

6. Working experience with cloud native tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, ELB, Autoscaling, and EC2

7. Good understanding of VPCs, Subnet configuration, route table, Internet gateway, VPC peering, Transit gateway, VPC Link, etc

8. AWS - Amazon Web Services Certified SysOps Administrator Associate

9. Active certification status on any cloud providers: AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure Solution Architect (preferred)

10. Active certification status on any cloud providers: AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure Developer (preferred)

11. Track record of successfully establishing and implementing transformation programs in an Agile and DevOps environment

Minimum Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Management, Engineering, or another related discipline

2. 5 years of professional IT experience working with Windows Server or Linux environments.

3. 4 Years of AWS Experience, CloudFormation experience

4. 8 years of related experience including experience working with Agile Methods and modern technology environments.

5. 3 years of Cloud architecture experience and cloud economics

6. Experience leading cross functional project teams, workgroups.

7. Highly desired - Knowledge of security technologies and methods for securing information

8. Highly desired - Demonstrated proficiency in understanding enterprise architecture life cycle methodologies.

9. Highly desired - Interpersonal and leadership skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management and influence.

MUST HAVE:

1. Experience in establishing and implementing governance model for the Cloud Migration and transformation efforts

2. Experience in Migrating from On-prem to Cloud using cloud infrastructure on IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions

3. Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) like EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, SSM, EBS AND Cloud formation.

4. Professional hands on IT experience working with Windows Server or Linux environments.

5. Experience with security best practices and implementing security controls in a AWS cloud environment

6. Experience working with Agile Methods and modern technology environments.

7. Experience leading cross functional project teams, workgroups

8. Demonstrated proficiency in understanding enterprise architecture life cycle methodologies.

9. Interpersonal and leadership skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management and influence
