Summary:
This role is responsible for leading the project lifecycle from requirements gathering, through project execution to project closure and lessons learned. This position will work directly with AVP of Project Management Office and partner closely with Project Owners and Sponsors, various internal departments as well as outside vendors & partners, to lead stakeholder engagement, project communications, scope and schedule management and project team success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage individual projects as assigned across multiple teams
- Ensure consistency with practices, standards and governance put forth by the Project Management Office
- Assist with the project intake: business case, preliminary effort estimations, preliminary scoping
- Partner with technical and business teams to create requirements documentation, runbooks, and other artifacts to clarify project scope
- Create and manage project documentation: project charter, project schedule, lessons learned and other project artifacts
- Proactively clarify and communicate project success criteria and deliverables through project lifecycle
- Build and maintain a consolidated timeline highlighting the major deliverables and milestones and associated timelines for project activities
- Follow RAID methodology by partnering with project team to identify and manage project risks, actions, issues, and decisions.
- Provide regular reporting on project success, escalate any actions, decisions, and risks to PMO as necessary
- Keep all stakeholders (internal & external) engaged in the project, aligned on expected outcomes, and informed
- Lead project team in working sessions, get-to-green sessions, root cause analysis, or similar problem-solving techniques to assist in resolving issues and crafting solutions to ensure project success
- Facilitate effective project closure to validate that the success criteria and deliverables were met, all the project tasks were completed and to capture lessons learned to enable further growth and maturity
- Ensures full compliance with UNIFY Financial Credit Union Service Standards, policies, and procedures; all applicable State and Federal regulations; and the Bank Secrecy Act
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional experience in Project Management and Business Analysis, responsible for defining project requirements, managing project teams, project scope, timelines, communication, and effective delivery of solutions
- Experience with project life cycle documentation: requirements documentation, runbooks, project documentation (charters, scope statements, schedules, status reporting, etc.)
- Experience in leading cross-functional hybrid teams (remote and co-located)
- Proficient with PM tools (ex. Monday.com, JIRA, MS Project)
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in project management processes and methodologies: waterfall, agile, iterative, hybrid.
- Experience in driving concurrent and complex projects within a matrixed organization.
- Strong communicator – able to identify and clearly communicate the impact of project risks to budget, timeline and scope to key business stakeholders and multiple levels of leadership. Ability to lead multiple, concurrent projects.
- Service leader mindset – ability to create effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Project Management and/or Business Analysis certification would be a plus (PMI certifications, IIBA certifications, Scrum, etc.)
- 4-year college degree 3 years of experience in Project Management and Business Analysis field OR advanced degree in Project Management field 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in implementation a diverse portfolio of projects: technology projects, process improvement projects, infrastructure projects, etc.
- Experience working with financial institutions would be a plus
- Proficient in leveraging technology for effective team collaboration (remote work) (ex. Teams, SharePoint)
- Strong analytical skills – ability to effectively collaborate with business and technology teams to translate business needs and data points into measurable and actionable deliverables
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to high quality deliverables
- Able to work with teams to balance competing priorities, time, and resource constraints
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Enthusiasm to learn new technologies, and ability to do so quickly, on the job
- Professional demeanor and comfortable working with executives and leadership
