Job Classification: This position is currently a salaried Part-Time position.

Qualifications &

• Must be a believer, relatable and self-aware.
• Must be an excellent communicator with a desire to uplift other, be patient in leading, and execute your qualities with humility and gentleness making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
• Must be a mature and growing disciple of Jesus with character that is above reproach, as evidenced by their family life, church references, and public reputation.
• Must be a proficient lead worshiper who is also able to lead a team of musicians, singers, and tech volunteers and as needed, recruit, assess, train, integrate, and develop team members musically, as well as disciple them spiritually. Must rehearse regularly with the music ministry.
• Must plan worship services, in consultation with the pastor, with prayer, conceptual forethought, and theological accuracy so that the service is a consistent and cohesive whole that helps worshipers see the greatness of God in Jesus Christ, in the power of the Spirit.
• Supervise the work of all musicians (i.e. drummer, guitarist) in the Music Ministry.
• Must be a committed to Union Baptist, who, along with their family, if applicable has one, attends the various gatherings of the church (Sunday School, Bible Study Fellowship, events, corporate prayer, members meetings) and works for its health, growth, and unity. Must be willing to complete the membership process at Union.
• Must be aligned with the church’s Statement of Faith, church covenant, mission statement, five rhythms, and philosophy of ministry.
• Stay abreast of current music methods and materials (e.g., traditional & contemporary gospel, hymns, and praise & worship)
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Must work well with others and treat them with respect, gentleness, consideration, truth, and love. Must be teachable and able to work under authority. Must do their work heartily, as unto the Lord.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must have some experience leading musical worship and must supply the names of references for whom and with whom he/she has worked, including one or more of their current pastor(s).
