Founded in 1888, Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County is a united Christian organization and ministry dedicated to providing love, hope, respect, and a new beginning for homeless women, men, and families. UGM-TC is funded entirely by the generosity of the community and offers a residency program for individuals looking to maximize their potential and transition out of homelessness. Through the programs and services provided, individuals develop essential life skills to become independent, productive members of our community. POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Coordinator is responsible for executing fundraising initiatives to help achieve UGM-TC’s overall mission and goals. This position involves managing fundraising events for UGM-TC and Healing Shepherd Clinic (HSC); cultivating and managing relationships with HSC donors; assisting the Volunteer Manager to increase volunteer engagement; and providing assistance to the Development Department and other departments as needed. This is a full-time position of at least 40 hours per week. This position is expected to maintain ethical standards of fundraising as outlined in the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
What You Will Do:
Event Coordinating for UGM-TC and HSC:
- Coordinate event logistics which include: vendor contracts, menu selection, audio visuals, event rentals, booking entertainment, videographer and photographer coordination, on-site event support, event data entry, décor, creative aspects, and other event production elements.
- Work alongside Marketing and Communications Coordinator to develop creative and effective promotional materials for events.
- Work alongside event committee members.
- Update event reports on a monthly/weekly/daily basis, as progress and commitments are made.
- Manage the event budgets.
- Assist with post-event recaps, gift entry, and thank you letters to all vendors and donors.
Healing Shepherd Clinic Development:
- Develop and implement fundraising plans to meet annual and long-term fundraising goals.
- Research prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors.
- Create methods to solicit donations from existing and potential donors such as social media posts, videos, email campaigns, newsletters, postcards, direct mail solicitations, North Texas Giving Day campaigns, etc.
- Manage and track donor records, contact information, and history.
- Participate in donor meetings, tours, presentations, and events.
- Develop and implement recognition and stewardship strategies.
- Prepare fundraising reports and other documents for board meetings.
- Stay informed of fundraising trends, techniques, and technology.
Volunteer Manager Assistance
- Build and manage a volunteer tracking system to show the volunteer lifecycles at UGM-TC.
- Working with the Development Director and Volunteer Manager, use the volunteer tracking system to identify opportunities to improve volunteer retention and increase volunteer engagement.
- Working with the Volunteer Manager, oversee the planning and execution of National Volunteer Appreciation Week in April by coordinating communication, gifts, events, etc. within the limits of a set budget.
- Create volunteer highlights to be shared on the Volgistics portal including upcoming events, important information, and Volunteer Spotlights.
- Assist the Volunteer Manager with volunteer outreach by connecting to community resources and/or online volunteer databases.
- Assist with other volunteer duties, as needed.
Prayer Request Ministry:
- Participate in Prayer Request Ministry by contacting assigned donors, participating in weekly prayer and follow up with a handwritten card.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: 2-5 years of event coordinating experience
