What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrator in Training (AIT) position at Union House Nursing Home?
Union House Nursing Home is a 44 Bed SNF/NF facility that provides Quality and Compassionate Resident Centered Care to the residents we serve. We're located in picturesque Glover, VT and are currently accepting applications for an Administrator-in-Training, who will receive an intensive on-the-job training program designed for individuals seeking initial licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator and a career as a health care executive.
The AIT Program is a full-time, six month minimum program in which the AIT obtains practical on-the-job training at the facility under the direct supervision of an experienced Administrator preceptor/mentor. Once Licensed, this individual would assume leadership as the Nursing Home Administrator for the facility.
The training program includes rotation through the various departments and duties in a skilled nursing facility; education on the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies (such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); and a study of regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other topics of education/training for those in the AIT position include business/fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care compliance. AIT candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in their state of intended residence. An Administrator’s long-term success in the role is limited only by his/her own performance and motivation.
