An Electrician's Day
As an Electrician you will get the opportunity plan layout, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment while being consistent with specifications and electrical codes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Follows diagrams or blueprints.
- Provide cost estimates as needed.
- Measure, cuts, bends, threads, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Pull wiring through conduit.
- Splice, connect and complete terminations.
- Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
- Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
- Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments.
- Welding duties including but not limited to layout, fabrication and installation as well as proper handling and storage of related materials.
- Flexibility to participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after hour emergencies.
- Forklift, backhoe, or similar equipment operation as required.
- Plumbing as required. Clean drains, sprinkler systems, bathroom fixtures, etc.
- Assist with building modifications.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of HVAC units.
- Perform basic facility maintenance such as snow removal, change light bulbs, etc.

Education and/or Experience
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, manuals, and work specifications.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
- Basic knowledge of welding.
- High school diploma or GED and 4-year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Journeyman Electrician License issued by the State of Wyoming or a reciprocating state.
- Valid Driver's License
- Acceptable driving record
