Description
We are seeking for a Pipeline Scheduler to join our Operations Team. The Pipeline Scheduler is responsible for the international scheduling and delivery of oil to pipeline or waterborne for transportation to third-party and company locations to meet customer demand. The operator will work closely with traders, legal, risk, clients, and terminals to coordinate movements for appropriate timing, batch, and sequence of product shipments. The goal of the operator is to ensure the successful coordination of shipments to support physical commodity movement, while also minimizing transportation costs and maintaining quality.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling pipeline oil volume and coordinating all required movements.
- Manage and schedule volumes from multiple receipt locations and coordinate deliveries with downstream carriers.
- Develop and sustain strong customer relationships with shippers, producers, and other midstream/end-use companies.
- Develop improved scheduling methods to efficiently utilize company resources, optimize inventory levels, and minimize transportation costs.
- Coordinate communications between terminals, risk, trading, and marine operations regarding any inventory or operational issues.
- Assist trading and business development in identifying and executing growth opportunities for the position and trading strategy.
- Nominate and clear vessels with all 3rd parties for export cargoes, collaborate with shipping, and discuss blending/sampling.
- Confirm with the settlements team any pricing and or volume discrepancy to resolve any issues or barriers post-trade.
- Collaborate with our back office to positively manage the settlement process with third parties, such as inspection invoices on cargoes.
- Provide backup to other operators and interact/coordinate with our internal groups/companies to complete all required tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, economics, or related.
- 4 years of commodities scheduling and relevant supply & trading experience.
- 2 years of pipeline scheduling experience or marine experience preferred
- Refinery planning and/or operations experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to build positive relationships and team spirit.
- Previous experience creating/reviewing contracts and strong knowledge of Incoterms.
- Experienced with international trade finance, previous experience with financial instruments, letters of credit, payment undertaking, and credit risk.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent at time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well without supervision and self-starter.
