Payroll Specialist

Unique Homes & Lumber, Inc. is searching for a motivated individual to join our accounting team as a payroll specialist at its home office located in Charleston, IL. Unique Homes is a construction company providing support services to a diverse group of affiliated companies in the construction, apartment rentals, hospitality, restaurant, and operations of assisted living and memory care facilities industries.

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with little or no payroll experience interested in building a payroll skill set and resume.

What you will do:

• Input new hires into the payroll system
• Process employee terminations
• Update the payroll system with changes of employee data. (Change of addresses, tax withholding data, pay rates, etc.
• Monitor and process requests received in the payroll email account.
• Assist with training of payroll and time card managers
• Assist 401k and workers' compensation insurance audits.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
