Job Summary

We are seeking a Mazak Lathe Programmer and Operator to join our Machine Shop Team. This person must be an expert in the programming, setup, and operation of our Mazak Quick Turn 250-MSY (Mazatrol SmoothG) and Quick Turn Nexus 200 (Mazatrol 640T) lathes with bar feeders. All programming is done via Mazatrol at the machines. Proficiency in programming and operating a Mazak lathe with live tooling, Y-Axis, and a sub-spindle is required.

We run prototype and production parts used in our products on two Mazak Lathes, three Brother Drill-Tap Machines and a Haas VF-2. We use our own MQL systems instead of flood coolant on our machines to maintain a clean, healthy work environment. Did we mention the shop is air conditioned too?!

What would you do?

  • Set up Mazak lathes for new jobs and machine components to tolerances required.

  • Optimize production CNC programs for maximum efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine errors and faults.
  • Work with machine shop lead and scheduler to collaboratively complete jobs.
  • Responsible for first, middle, and last piece inspection. Complete inspection reports using hand inspection equipment, Starrett Digital AVR, and/or Keyence IM-8000 as required.
  • Work with Support Engineering and machine shop lead to identify and correct machining problems and perform machine preventative maintenance.
  • Maximize machine up-time by running multiple machines simultaneously and documenting setup procedures.
  • Perform other responsibilities as necessary.

Do you have what it takes? You must be/have:

  • High English speaking, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of Mazak programming and machining experience is required.
  • Expertise in programming and operating Mazak Quick Turn 250MSY & Quick Turn Nexus 200 lathes.
