About the Role

Unite Us is seeking an experienced Senior Policy Associate to focus on government policy and practice. A Senior Policy Associate will provide cross-cutting policy research, analysis and implementation support to region-based government relations staff, identify ways that Unite Us can support the strategic goals of government leaders, and work with internal and external partners to ensure the successful implementation of new policy-driven initiatives. 

 

What You'll Do:

The Senior Policy Associate will work with the Senior Director of Regulatory and Government Affairs to develop strategies for Unite Us to deepen its relationships with government partners and accelerate its progress in transforming our system of health and human services in the United States. The Senior Policy Associate will play a critical role in researching and analyzing federal, state and local policies, translating policy research into business operations activities, and engaging and leading internal and external teams to develop and implement policy-driven initiatives. Potential areas of work include health equity, veterans, workforce readiness, maternal health and children’s health and wellness. 

  • Develop business-enabling, cross-cutting policy analysis and implementation plans, and lead internal/external engagement efforts to translate plans into action.
  • Assist in the development of state-by-state government relations and policy advocacy plans.
  • Review and assess current and proposed state and federal policies to determine potential impact and/or implications for Unite Us;
  • Research and compile best practices and trends related to health care, social care transformation, health equity, veterans, workforce readiness, maternal health, children’s health and wellness, and other key policy areas;
  • Draft blogs, flyers, decks and other external facing collateral to help articulate Unite Us’ value proposition as it relates to key populations, policy areas, or geographies;
  • Support lead generation and inside sales campaigns that target government or policy-related partnerships through research, content review, and contact compilation;
  • Track proposed legislation as well as new and existing grant opportunities;
  • Support government sales pipeline and identification of and outreach to potential funders through ongoing analysis of policy interests and surrounding political and regulatory landscape

 

You’re a great fit for this role if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy or a related field, experience in healthcare and/or SDOH policy preferred.
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent research, writing and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to consistently meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively translate policy and regulatory requirements into business operations
  • Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn software technologies such as Google Suite, Zoom, Slack, HubSpot, Asana, etc.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This position is remote, U.S. based. Unite Us has office locations (NYC, Raleigh, Los Angeles) that you may choose to work from in the future.
  • This position may require 5-10% travel
