POSITION SUMMARY: STATEN ISLAND, NY - United Activities Unlimited, is seeking to find an energetic individual who enjoys working with children, creating a positive enriching and nurturing environment while operating a successful COMPASS program. The Program Director will need to possess familiarity with social services and a variety of available community resources. In addition to providing an appropriately safe, caring, structured, and enriching environment for children. The Program Director will have a passion for developing and empowering youth and communities through comprehensive programming and strong leadership. The Program Director must have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with staff members, participants, parents, New York City agencies, and the school administration whereas the job is located.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
- Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
- Oversee program staff, program operations, services and the implementation of programs and/other processes (e.g. site rules, discipline, site schedule, space requirements, etc.) for the purpose of providing services within established time frames and in compliance with related requirements.
- Participate in organizing meetings, workshops, seminars, (staff trainings, parent meetings etc.) for the purpose of identifying issues, gaining knowledge, providing information and/or supporting site staff.
- Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization.
- Develop and implement short and long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
- Monitor an annual budget and operation plan to support the program.
- Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that the program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and funders.
- Ensure that the program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.
- Develop forms and records to document program activities.
- Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the program for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization.
- Ensure that personnel files for the program are properly maintained and kept confidential.
- Establish and implement a performance management process for all program staff.
- Create and oversee staff schedules, assignments, and time sheets.
- Develop collaborative relations with the school staff, administration and community members.
- Develop and maintain open communication with parents, school administration and the organization.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, or related field.
- 2 years direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age.
- 1 years in supervisory capacity in childcare program or related field of work.
- Obtain and maintain all security clearance requirements throughout duration of employment.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based perspective.
