WHAT WE’RE OFFERING
United’s Director of Finance leads all aspects of finance, accounting, purchasing, and warehouse functions. They play a significant role in long-term strategic planning, including financial forecasting and budgets, while ensuring our capital is deployed efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned as required.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive budgets and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, including federal and state broadband grant compliance requirements.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure the accuracy of financial data, and mitigate financial risks.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate external audits, manage audit processes, and implement audit recommendations to ensure compliance and transparency.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, coordinate tax filings, and work with external tax advisors to minimize tax liabilities.
- Manage cash flow and treasury functions to optimize liquidity and mitigate financial risks.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
- Conduct financial analysis, performance monitoring, and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA qualification preferred.
- 8 years’ experience in financial management, accounting, or controller roles; Telecom experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including on technical subject matter.
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
