Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Principal, the Music Instructor is responsible for teaching musical education to Elementary aged students. The instructor must plan, organize, and coordinate all musical activities involving the students. Through small group and individual lessons, the instructor will work to improve students' skill and knowledge in music with a focus on Hispanic heritage and culture and create a classroom environment that allows for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve their learning objectives.

Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Music from a four-year college or university or one to two years related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Conditions:
Position is mainly in a classroom setting. Noise level is moderate/loud depending on instructional plans. May have to sit or stand for long periods of time during lessons. Must be able to see printed materials in order to read music or other documents related to musical instruction. Ability to bend, crouch, kneel to assist students in pushing/pulling and lifting of musical equipment and supplies. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
