GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The IT Intern will be a temporary member of the IT Team, focused on providing a high degree of precision audits and clean up duties need by the IT department. After the duties of an intern are complete, based on performance and availability of positions, the opportunity to become a permanent member may be made available.
REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining computers, IP phone equipment, servers, and network equipment.
- Assists with small- to medium-sized IT projects.
- Follows and enforces UD IT Policies and Procedures.
- Answers emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards as set by the Director of IT.
- Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information.
- Performs any other duties and/or special tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required. Pursuing Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred. Familiar with Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10). Experience with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint/OneDrive, Exchange, and Office 365 Suite).

IT Intern must be able to:
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work under pressure; assess, respond to, and communicate issues in a timely manner
- Exhibit proficiency in detailed data comparison and entry
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Position requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment; some light lifting required; seldom travel to remote UD offices may be required.
