Overview
United Engines is Now Hiring a Off Highway Diesel Field Service Technician at 5555 W Reno, Oklahoma City, OK 73127. Diagnose engine and transmission problems and repair accordingly in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities
Inspect defective equipment and diagnoses malfunctions, using test instruments, such as motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery, such as pumps and compressors.
Fix, service, align, set up, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
Disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and rear ends.
Make precisely coordinated movements using one’s own hands and arms in handling, installing, forming, positioning, and moving materials, or to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves.
Read job orders and observe and listen to operating equipment to ensure conformance to specifications or to determine malfunctions.
Read, interpret, and comprehend service manuals in order to remain up to date on engineering changes.
Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources.
Combine, evaluate, and reason with information and data to make decisions and solve problems.
Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment and the proper use of shop service tools and equipment is required.
Prefer the following training/knowledge: Series 53, 71, 92 and 149 Training; Series 60 Training on Highway; Failure Analysis Training; Series 2000 & 4000 Engine Training; DDEC II, III and IV Electronic; Systems Training; Allison Transmission Experience; Mercedes 900/4000 Experience
Purchase and/or possess basic shop tools, reliable transportation and current state issued driver license.

Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
Ability to frequently exert the pound force limits for push/pull 50lb f (no wheels) or 100lb f (wheels).
Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands and fingers.
Requires crawling and working in narrow spaces.
Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e. hammering, turning wrenches, screwdrivers and impact tools.
Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers.
Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
Working Conditions:
Exposed to cold, heat, noise mechanical/electrical fume or odor.
Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on one shift.
Will be required to work at a minimum height of four feet off of the ground.
Ability to operate overhead cranes, mobile equipment and motor vehicles as required.
