The Role:
Join United Food Bank's expanding team serving in a newly created role of Social Media Specialist. The Social Media Specialist is responsible for executing the United Food Bank’s social media communications and strategy. The Social Media Specialist works collaboratively with program leadership to ensure consistent messaging regarding United Food Bank’s mission, vision, philosophy, and services. The Social Media Specialist will be part of the External Affairs Department and report to the Communications Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Consistently communicate agency mission, vision, values, and services through all communications with adherence to brand guidelines.
- Prepare an annual social media marketing plan with clear deliverables and metrics
- Prepare monthly analysis of key metrics to monitor social media progress towards communications and marketing goals and report trends of interest or concern to the supervisor.
- Must be fluent in using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Align social media messaging to agency mission, vision, values, and priorities
- Create content strategy & plan each month
- Message management across all social platforms
- Design all content for agency messaging, events, and updates (must have knowledge of using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva)
- Content scheduling: scheduling all posts through sprout social and/or directly through social platforms.
- Content development and management: Must have an eye for photography. Social Media Specialist will be responsible for getting photos/videos at events, tours, volunteer sessions, and agency visits throughout the company for internal and external use.
- Manage Videography needs: taking video, hiring videographer (as needed, when approved), organizing and maintaining video assets
- Manage Photography needs: taking photos, hiring a photographer (as needed, when approved), organizing and maintaining photo assets
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required
Qualifications:
- Passion for alleviating hunger.
- Minimum of two years of social media management experience
- Experience developing quality content for various formats, channels, and audiences
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation, both written and oral.
- Balance of creative problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Team player mentality with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to assume responsibility and work independently.
- Detail-oriented with adherence to deadlines
- Candidates should have computer skills and comfort level with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and MailChimp (or similar)
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various desktop and mobile computer applications.

Coverage under our insurance program commences on the first day of the month following thirty days of continuous employment.
