Key Essential Functions And Accountabilities Of The Job
- Implements safe, therapeutic, and efficient care for patients with needs, due to multisystem disease and/or complications of treatment, under the supervision of an RN, using appropriate infection control measures.
- Sets priorities for care of patients based on acuity and/or patients’ preference.
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment use.
- Accurately administers age-specific medications (oral, topical, and intramuscular) and therapeutics (examples include, but are not limited to, oxygen therapy, sterile and un-sterile dressings, catheterizations, IV starts, irrigations, etc.).
- Carries out medical and nursing care plan and coordinates patient care activities with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Facilitates healing by providing nursing care that is individualized, goal oriented, and based on the nursing process.
- Seeks out resources when beyond the scope of skill, knowledge, or experience.
- General LPN Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required
- Completion of accredited LPN training program
- Active nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required.
- Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license at time of hire.
- Agency staff must have an active Alaska license.
- Current basic life support (BLS)
- High school diploma or GED
- General LPN Experience Required
- 1 year of general nursing experience
- Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of
- Clinic procedures for receiving and following through on a patient visit and any related clinic treatments, procedures.
- Age-appropriate vital signs and behaviors.
- Life-saving procedures.
- Medical terminology and the ability to readily learn and use various computer programs preferred.
- Competently recognize adverse signs and symptoms
- Act promptly in emergency situations
- Assess, anticipate, and prioritize needs
- Verbally communicate findings with healthcare team
- Provide guidance and cooperatively work with others by establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, team members, and other departments
- Maintain confidentiality
- Carry out assigned tasks in an organized, efficient way
- Multi-task quickly
- Work independently and with a team
- Maintain compliance with licensing and competencies such as LPN license, BLS certification, and HIPAA certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Pay: $68,000 - $73,000 yearly $5K sign on, $10K Relocation Assistant
