In a clerical role the Medical Office Assistant is the customer service liaison to each of our practices. The Medical Office Assistant greets each patient with courtesy and respect using exceptional communication skills. The purpose of this position is to provide our patients with a seamless experience while following all United Health Services Policies regarding registration, scheduling, insurance verification and billing. In a clinical role the medical assistant performs patient care tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse and/or nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider.

Minimum Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited secondary medical assisting program or 2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or /hospital setting.
- Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting.
- Certified medical administrative assistant (CMAA)
Minimum Required:
- Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.
- Work is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.
- The office is air conditioned as well as heated.
- Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- Fast-paced environment including frequent interruptions.
- Frequent sitting, walking, standing and bending.
- Possibility of lifting of patients.
- Mobility may include access through a multi-level facility, including climbing stairs.
- PPE- Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, Gloves per UHS Infection Control and CDC guidelines when appropriate.
- Employees are required to have reasonable access to transportation to meet work requirements made in the ordinary course of business in a timely and efficient manner.
